I really need to update my journal with a lot of news and features that I've promised forever, but until I get the time to do that, I just wanted to mention something that happened to me that just blew me out of my socks. I received an email request last week from someone asking me if I would do an interview about my art for her website, minervana.com. The website is very "sisters are doing it for themselves", which I don't mind at all, and she's has some interesting artists and other arts and media information. It's an entertaining and informative site, I think, especially if you're female.

I was absolutely stunned by the request, to say the very least. I agreed and the interview is posted if anyone is interested. The link for the whole article is Psychedelic Art by Women Artists. And the link to the interview itself is Peggi Wolfe, Artist Profile.

I hope you get a kick out of it. I certainly did. I've been a medical research scientist for 35 years and in all that time I was never interviewed for anything. Now, I've been doing fractal art for a year and someone wants to talk to me about my art? I'm speechless with surprise and glee!

Yes, it will take longer. If you only rendered at 2000, you might try 6000 or 8000. Watch the estimated render time when the render starts and see what it says after a couple of seconds. It usually starts high and then drops after a short time. The more complex the image, the longer it will take. Some variations seem to really slow it down. But you can see how long it will take by just starting the render and looking at the bottom of the render window to see the estimated render time and choose one you can live with. Do you do any Post-rendering? That can help, too. Bumping the Filter radius up from say 0.2 to 0.6 to 0.8 can also smooth things out a little. It's a bit like anti-aliasing.

to hear that you think so. I just really do find enjoyment in it all....planning, preparing, and hosting. For me it's all so much fun! Except maybe the judging! :omfg:
That is least fun! haha.. it's too hard to decide.

But I am only the house the party was in.. if not for all of you participants, judges, and donators.. It could never be as much of a success as it was! So I thank you all!
And I can't wait to do it all again next year! =D I hope to see you again there.
