Kandinsky Inspired DC Carpet

This is my entry for this week's Apo Challenge 55 - Pushing the Envelope, being held by . This was a very tough Challenge. The rules were very loose and were as follows:

The idea behind our challenge is to emulate the artwork and style of Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky.

As you view his work, aim not to create replicas of his work, but use them as inspiration pieces and starting blocks for your own designs. Strive to make your fractals emulate his style and the feel behind the work. Take some time to get to know Kandinsky and watch your fractal talent grow.

Well, I used this as my inspiration, but I couldn't quite replicate the style.

I used the original image to make a gradient and then used that gradient in this piece. I thought this would be easy to replicate in Apo, but no matter what I tried I couldn't quite get what I wanted. This will have to suffice if I am to enter it before the deadline.

This was a very intriguing Challenge. I wish I had done better. I hope you like it anyway.

Made in Apophysis 7X v14 and postwork done in GIMP.
