Lead With Your Heart by wolfepaw Lead With Your Heart by wolfepaw
This is a tweak of some fractal parameters that were published on the UF Mailing List Digest by Madelon Wilson and Lilo. Tweaks were invited, so I did! While playing with them I was listening to my favorite new singing group, The Tenors (formerly The Canadian Tenors). Incredible voices with so much power and emotion! Their new CD is called "Lead With Your Heart" and the title track is just wonderful. If you have never heard of The Tenors, give yourself a treat and check out this video of "Lead With Your Heart". I think you might enjoy it.

The chorus of the song goes:
If you lead, lead with your heart,
It’s the one thing you can trust, to always come from love
And it will shine, right through the dark
Like a northern star to show you what is true
You’ll never lose, if only you
Will lead with your heart.

The fractal features the Heart and the Northern Star. I hope you enjoy it!

Created in UltraFractal 5 and some minor postwork done in PhotoPlus X5.

Original parameters name: MadUF5_0409+lilo+PW7a OGP desk

I love the Tenors, as well! Once my aunt introduced me to their music, I was hooked!
It's nice to know that someone else knows about them, as well :D

Yes, I absolutely adore their music.  I wish they would come close to New Orleans or Jackson MS, so I could go see them.  I would love to see them live in concert!

I really want to get into this sort of thing, but I have to read and use my Gimp book.

Ivan, GIMP won't help you make something like this. This is created with a fractal generating program called UltraFractal 5. It is the only fractal program that I have that cost me anything. It's very powerful and they are forever adding new formulas to it and it does more things that even I know how to do. There is a trial version you can download for 30 days free trial, but if you don't know anything about fractals, I would not download it and try to learn fractals using it. I would get my feet wet with some of the free programs first. I didn't buy UF5 until I had been doing fractals for about a year. Then it took me 6 months to get up the nerve to even open it and start playing around. But, there are many fractal artists here on deviantart and on RedBubble and Fine Art America. And the majority of them are very nice, generous people who will help you with tips, parameters, answer questions on the interface or on a particular style of fractal. I made full use of all the resources for fractals on deviantart. There is a group on RedBubble devoted to people learning Apophysis called Apophysis Tutorial Fun. I have been a cohost of the group for a couple of years, but I have not had time lately to be very active. But, one of the cohosts, James Brotherton, is very good and the group is interactive with all the members giving support and help when needed. I can recommend it highly. The link to that group is: [link] You can join RedBubble for free and then send a bmail (RedBubble's version of the Note system like on dA) to me and ask for an invite to the Apophysis Tutorial Fun group and I can add you to the group and help you find your way around.

I've had a quick look, but have to check out red bubble and fine art America later. I may not be able to make art like yours with gimp but I could make art more like yours. I think I will stick with Gimp for now. I know a lot about Gimp but I'm still only using 1% of programs potential. I think I should go further with what I'm doing before rushing off to something else. I will look into fractal programs in the coming year though. What free fractal programs did you like?
Thanks for your help and your art is wonderful.

I just received 2 CDs yesterday. Their first CD and their latest CD, same name as as this image. I could listen to them for hours. I would love to see them in concert. I don't go to many concerts because I don't think most of them are worth the cost, but I would definitely pay to see these guys. I felt the same way about Celine Dion and she actually came to New Orleans in 2009 when I was there and I went and sat about 8 rows from the stage. I got up to about 6-8 ft in front of her with my camera and got some close ups of her singing. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Do you like Celtic Woman (women's group) and/or Celtic Thunder (men's group)?
My daughter loves listening to them as well. :)

My favorite woman singer has always been Barbra Streisand. I think she and
Celine did a duet together. :)

Yes, I do like Celtic Woman. I have not heard Celtic Thunder, but I will have to check them out. I was also a Barbra Streisand fan ever since Funny Girl. I guess I like Celine now because she's still performing on a regular basis and she's really wonderful with her fans. She and Barbra did do a duet together, called "Tell Him". It's a really lovely song. Their voices are similar, I think, and they blended well on this song.
