OK, here's my 2nd UF attempt. I followed the great tutorial: UF Jumpstart. I didn't do it exactly, but I used the same steps and did a little experimenting.
I know this looks like some of my FE hearts, but, hey, this is UF. A whole different ball of wax. I'm just delighted I'm beginning to learn my way around.
Thanks to for some useful tips and for sharing her UF5 params, although this one is not a tweak of any of hers. I just know I'll be having fun with her params in the future, when I learn a little bit more about what I'm doing.
Very nice. I used to use UF but couldn't remember which images I had made with it and which were made with FE so they are all in one folder together in my gallery, plus a load I never filed. Too complicated with almost 3000 image plus my scrapbook...
I suppose I should get using it again. I just prefer FE somehow.
Have you tried Fractal Forge? That is another similar program. Again the images I did with it will be in the FE folder.
Thank you, Roz! I'm finding UF very challenging. And, yes, there is a lot of similarity between it and FE. The intensity of the colors and the overall look of the images. But, I guess, a specific equation in one does pretty much in the other, right. Like a Mandelbrot in FE looks just like a Mandelbrot in UF. Apo is different because it doesn't quite rely on the same type of equations. I don't understand the math and I don't pretend to, but I can certainly see the difference.
I have not tried Fractal Forge. Is it a freebie? I have so many fractal programs now, including Incendia, I'm wondering if I would ever get the time to use it.
Fractal Forge is a free program. It does not have a lot of sop but it can be fun, basic Julias and Mandies really:[link] Try it and see. Mainly good for zooming into stuff.
Give it a go and see what you think it does crash a bit though, avoid Orbits if you can. Every time I went there it crashed. I will post an image done with it for you to see right away.
